For the office environment, you need to buy the higher-grade Keurig brewer to prevent premature pump burn out. The most popular office-brewing model Keurig offers is the B155, priced at $250. With a 90-ounce water reservoir (no hard plumbing available), your office can get about 15 cups of coffee out of this unit per refill. The unit brews 4-ounce, 6-ounce, 8-ounce and 10-ounce cups and any standard K-Cup fits the unit. This unit is great for small offices supporting 10-15 people.
Tassimo’s Single Serve Office Coffee Machines
Tassimo offers several top of the line commercial grade single serve coffee brewers. The most popular is the Tassimo T-300. This larger unit can be hard-plumbed for continuous use and automatically loads T-discs. It holds 20 T-discs ready for operation and if you choose not to hard plumb the unit, it has a 101-ounce water reservoir that can make 17 cups of coffee with its fixed distribution of 6-ounces per brew. Another very important note about the Tassimo commercial system is that it requires the commercial-grade T-discs! Consumer purchased T-discs from the store will not work in the commercial brewer. This unit is best for medium to large offices supporting 25-50 people or offices that offer single serve coffee to their consumers.
Flavia’s Single Serve Office Coffee Machines
Finally, a less well-known commercial single serve brewer is the Flavia Creation 200. Perfect for medium offices between 10-25 people, the Flavia Creation 200 is the simplest commercial grade single serve coffee brewer on the market. The Flavia Creation 200 can be hard plumbed (much like the Tassimo T300) and if you choose not to hard plumb it, you can get 13 cups of coffee. It brews a fixed distribution of 6-ounces per cup and uses a package called “Fresh Pack” to brew coffee. Similar to T-discs and K-Cups, the Fresh Packs are the least expensive on the market in bulk.
In terms of appropriateness for different office sizes, the Tassimo T300 is the absolute best for big offices and heavy use. The Flavia Creation 200 and Keurig B155 are both great for small to medium offices, but the Flavia Creation 200 can be hard plumbed which makes it better for medium offices. Finally, the Keurig B155 doesn’t offer a constant flow of water like the T300 or Flavia 200, which makes it most appropriate for small offices.
