One of the concerns people often voice about purchasing single cup coffee machines is the availability and variety of coffees. When you buy a single cup machine, you're likely to only be introduced to the coffees made by the manufacturer of the machine, at first. And, while each manufacturer does make coffee in a range of choices, you might be worried that you'll get bored with those choices over time.
But, don't worry. There are plenty of coffee choices available today for all of the most popular single serve coffee machines on the market. In fact, single serve coffee machines have grown so quickly in popularity that many coffee companies have been working to get in on the popular trend. Let's take a look at some of the coffee available for the most popular machines.
Keurig
Keurig itself makes just a few choices in coffee for their single serve machines. But, in all, there are more than 200 coffee choices available in K cups. You'll find coffee made by Dunkin Donuts, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse, Green Mountain and many more readily available for your Keurig machine.
Tassimo
Tassimo has won raves for its machine that makes coffee and tea as well as a number of specialty coffees like cappuccino and latte. Tassimo has partnered with several different companies to make their "t-discs". Some of the most well known include Maxwell House, Gevalia and Suchard. The number of companies making t-discs just keeps growing right along with the popularity of the Tassimo machine.
Senseo
Senseo, made by Philips, uses coffee pods for brewing. Senseo makes pods to fit its machines, and the quality of the coffee is quite good. However, you can also find coffee pods that will fit the Senseo machine from Godiva, Wolfgang Puck, Melitta, Timothy's, Gevalia and Reunion Island.
Melitta
The Melitta single serve machine also uses pods. Essentially, any pod that will fit the Senseo machine will work with Melitta, as well. Melitta makes a wide variety of pods for their machines. Choose from Parisian Café, Hazelnut Crème, Breakfast Blend, Candy Cane and Egg Nog Crème Brulee, just to name a few. Sensations also make coffee pods that will fit the Melitta and Senseo coffee makers.
When you choose coffee for your machine that do not come from the machine's manufacturer, you may need to take a little extra care. For example, some of the pods you'll receive are larger than the manufacturer's pods, so they will require that you use them in a pod holder designed to hold two pods. This is not a problem with coffee makers like the Keurig, as their design is so specific and unique.
It's a good idea to buy coffee pods in fairly small quantities at first. This will allow you to determine which pods or discs work best in your single serve coffee machine and which you like the best. Even the most adventurous coffee connoisseur is sure to have some favorites that they return to over and over again. But, one thing is certain; with the large number of varieties of coffee available for single serve machines, you never have to worry about getting bored.
